Rejuvenation Beyond The Face
NYC Palette course
This past month, our incredibly talented and knowledgeable Physician Assistant, Maryellen Bishop, attended a Palette Resources Advanced Level 2-day Immersion course in New York City, NY.
In the mornings, on both Saturday and Sunday, the course began with an in-depth anatomical study and interactive discussion of all portions of the face and neck, with guided live cadaver dissection, led by the brilliant and world-renowned Facial Plastic Surgeon and Anatomist, Dr. Jonathan Sykes. These courses demonstrated structural changes associated with aging as well as clinically relevant anatomy, to help improve technique and minimize risks of complications. Integrated live injection demonstrations were simultaneously being performed to provide clinical context, with instruction from the famous Dr. Steve Yoelin, an Ophthalmologist practicing in facial aesthetics and injectables, known for his work on the Botox cosmetic trials, and his national love and respect as an Allergan trainer.
Afternoon breakout sessions included “round-robin” stations, where a handful of industry leaders in the field of injectable training were performing live injections with simultaneous instruction and Q&A.Afternoon elective courses were offered, and Maryellen chose to attend one on “Beyond Neuromodulators and Dermal Fillers: Currently playing and Coming Attractions”; as well as “Sharpening your Patient Assessment Skills: Essential for Optimal Outcomes and Key to a Successful Practice.”
Advanced electives, for the expert level injector were also provided, and Maryellen attended two of these great courses. “Rejuvenation Beyond the Face,” provided advanced instruction on nonsurgical rejuvenation approaches to the hands, neck, chest/decollete and body, using dermal fillers, deoxycholic acid (fat dissolving injectable), and other modalities.”Male Facial Aesthetics and Rejuvenation” addressed the increase in recent years of males seeking aesthetic procedures, and focused on the aging male face, important gender differences anatomically and aesthetically, as well as live demonstrations of rejuvenating the male face, was another great elective she attended.
Key faculty, in addition to Drs Yoelin and Sykes included Dr. Wendy Lee, Dr. Ellen Gendler, Dr. Claudio DiLorenzi, Dr. Glenn Vallecillos, Dr. Steven Davis, Julie Bass Kaplan, FNP-BC, CANS, Hermine Warren, APRN, CANS, Haley Wood, NP, Connie Brennan, BSN, RN, CANS, .and Rana Kennelly, BSN, CANS
Those of you who know Maryellen are aware of her drive and passion for continuing education. She is always seeking out the most beneficial, advanced and thorough educational courses and conferences to further advance her already strong knowledge base, and to better serve her patients. Palette, as usual, provided one of the best learning weekends she’s experienced (she loves the Palette programs and workshops!). With two long days of intensive learning and collaborating, Maryellen came back renewed and invigorated to serve her patients as safely and beautifully as ever!
